Implementing a cloud storage solution in a Multi-Academy Trust
The requirement
Ernesford Grange Academy, a secondary school within The Sidney Stringer Multi-Academy Trust, faced challenges in managing its surveillance system efficiently. With 57 cameras, primarily used for monitoring pupil movements, tracking incidents, and ensuring safety across the premises, the existing storage solution posed limitations in scalability and accessibility. To address these issues, the school decided to adopt a cloud storage solution.
The solution
By migrating their security system to the Videoloft cloud, Ernesford Grange Academy aimed to address the challenges encountered with their existing on-premises storage.
With Videoloft, multiple users across various departments, including IT, Operations, Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Behaviour Management, could access the footage from any location onsite or offsite. Not only this, with Videoloft, cameras can be tagged based on their location (e.g. outside, toilets etc), enabling users to quickly retrieve relevant footage for specific incidents.
The result
Ernesford Grange Academy efficiently addressed surveillance challenges by storing their footage in the Videoloft cloud, backing up 57 cameras at 2MP, recording on motion, and storing footage for 30 days.
The Videoloft cloud solution provides scalability, centralized access and improved security measures due to its benefit for safeguarding. Videoloft’s tagging and grouping feature made retrieving footage in the event of an incident much easier, emphasizing its benefit for safeguarding pupils and staff.
