How Taster implemented Videoloft Order Cams to limit false food delivery returns

The requirement

Taster is a digital-first franchise business that allows franchisees to open delivery or click and collect restaurants. Taster currently represents 12 innovative food brands. Through partnerships with leading platforms like Deliveroo, Uber Eats, and Just Eat, Taster brings fresh, high-quality meals to customers across 90 cities in Europe.

Taster needed a solution to reduce costly refund claims and disputes related to missing items, a common challenge faced by many restaurants relying on delivery platforms. Handling refund requests from food delivery platforms when customers report missing items is a major challenge for restaurants. To dispute these claims effectively, restaurants are required to provide clear photographic evidence showing that the order was complete when it left the kitchen.

The solution

Videoloft gave Taster an easy way to manage their disputes. The Videoloft Order Cam, a camera which enables franchises to easily photograph each order and its receipt before it is packed for delivery. The photos are stored in the Videoloft Cloud, where text recognition technology captures the receipt’s order number so it can be easily found if a refund is requested.

If a missing item claim arises, franchisees can easily search for the specific order number within the Videoloft Order Cam dashboard, then download the photographic evidence to dispute the claim. The Order Cam also allows franchisees to manage multiple locations within one platform, making it easy to manage disputes across any number of locations and track dispute statuses.

The result

With Videoloft, Taster was able to significantly cut down on refund claims and streamline the dispute resolution process. With clear proof of each order, franchisees could quickly address missing item claims, saving time and reducing costs. The easy-to-use dashboard also gave Taster valuable insights into operations, helping improve efficiency across the board.
