Videoloft, the cloud video surveillance platform, has partnered with Plate Recognizer, a specialist in automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) technology, to help enhance vehicle monitoring and security.
This collaboration integrates Plate Recognizer’s advanced ALPR technology with Videoloft’s cloud-based video surveillance system. This enables automatic vehicle identification, reading plates and reporting vehicle make and model. Users can search plates, view related videos, and generate reports for specific periods and cameras. Additionally, traffic flows can be monitored by tracking vehicle numbers at entry and exit points.

Plate Recognizer’s technology offers a comprehensive suite of features that go beyond simple license plate recognition. It can capture detailed information about vehicles in over 90 countries, including the license plate number, the vehicle type, and the car’s make, model, and color. After a thorough evaluation, Videoloft selected PlateRecognizer due to its highly accurate ALPR results. Through this partnership, Videoloft’s system can now offer an unprecedented level of detail and accuracy in vehicle monitoring, setting a high standard in security and operational efficiency.
Plate Recognizer AI software runs inside Videoloft’s AWS-hosted cloud environment. Videoloft’s own AI technology detects when vehicles are detected within video recordings and determines the best frame within the video to send to Plate Recognizer for evaluation. Combining advanced AI from both Videoloft and Plate Recognizer ensures accurate results are delivered economically.
