- Location: Kenya/Rwanda
- Requirements: Centralized control room for multi-site monitoring, efficient bandwidth use, scalable video infrastructure.
How Victory Farms uses Videoloft to enable centralized monitoring across sites
The requirement
Victory Farms is one of sub-Saharan Africa’s fastest-growing tilapia producers, operating 98 branches across Kenya and 25 in Rwanda.
Because their operations are widely distributed, Victory Farms needed a surveillance system that would allow real-time, centralized monitoring from a control room, aggregating video feeds from multiple remote sites.
A major challenge was bandwidth constraints, especially at remote sites where network capacity is limited. Streaming multiple video feeds simultaneously without degrading network performance posed a risk to both security effectiveness and operational systems.
Thus, their ideal solution had to:
- Compress and optimize video transmission so as not to overload limited bandwidth.
- Provide remote access and centralized oversight of multiple sites in one place.
- Be scalable over time as they grow toward 300 cameras.
The solution
Victory Farms partnered with Videoloft to deploy a cloud-based video management system. They began with 85 Hikvision cameras connected across their branch network, with room to gradually expand toward their 300 camera goal.
Key features that addressed their needs:
- Efficient, bandwidth-optimized streaming, reducing load on remote site networks.
- Centralized control room access, enabling managers to monitor all branches from one dashboard.
- A scalable platform, allowing additional cameras and sites to be added over time.
The result
With Videoloft, Victory Farms has been able to:
- Maintain continuous oversight of sites via a unified control room.
- Avoid network overloading thanks to optimized video streaming.
- Set up a foundation for growth, ready to onboard more cameras and branches as they scale.
